About Eric

Eric Leutheuser grew up in Hillsdale, where he attended the public schools and Hillsdale College. While a college student, he spent a year in Washington, D.C. and working on the reelection campaign of Congressman David Stockman. He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Political Economy.

For over thirty years, Eric worked at Leutheuser Buick GMC, a local business with twenty employees. He became General Manager and its Dealer-Operator in 1986.  This year, Eric sold the dealership to Ken and Stacy Joswiak.  He remains involved as his legislative schedule allows.

Eric has been involved in the community as an officer of the Hillsdale County Community Foundation, Hillsdale City Planning Commission, Economic Development Commission and the Rotary Club of Hillsdale.

Eric’s wife Laura is a former teacher. They are members of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Right to Life of Hillsdale County, the Hillsdale Arts Chorale and several other organizations. They have been married thirty years and have three daughters and six granddaughters.
